I prefer using old style network configuration as described in Networking#Interfaces. How to disable it is described in Ubuntu#NetworkManager.
Some distributions come with NetworkManager that provides a working standard configuration. If you want to use it, here some tricks to do non-standard things with it.
Configuration is stored in /etc/NetworkManager/system-connections/ in a file per connection.
To specify addresses use below. In the ipv6 section put auto to have the full SLAAC configurationon the interfaces to. With manual only the addresses specified and the routes provided my Route Advertisement are configured.
[ipv4]
address1=<CIDR>, <gateway>
dns=<DNSserverIP>;
dns-search=<search domain>;
method=manual
[ipv6]
addr-gen-mode=default
address1=<CIDR>,<gateway>
dns=<DNSserverIP>;
dns-search=<serach domain>;
method=auto
